About Claire Benson
I'm Claire Benson, the founder of The Marketing Power Hour, coach, strategist and Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Marketing.
In a nutshell - I am your Director of Marketing & Communications. I can help you focus, create a road map and deliver on your objectives.
The Marketing Power Hour offers three straight-forward services:

Availability for short-term Power Projects - to help you solve a pressing brand, communication or marketing business need.
All my services have been designed to help ethically minded businesses and charities thrive in this digitally dominated new world.
As a coach and strategist, I help businesses & charities set their goals, align their direction and ultimately grow their customer base using the principles of positive commerce, culture and conscience. My purpose is it educate and encourage ethical and sustainable marketing and communication practices, which are purpose-led and impact-driven.
I am particularly passionate about working with organisations whose purpose is centred around gender equality and empowering women and girls. Whether that is part of their supply chain, service delivery or their ethical and social sense of responsibility. Did you know we less than a decade to meet the UN's 17 sustainable development goals?
Originally from Kirkby Lonsdale in Cumbria, I'm also a photographer, travel lover and call New Zealand my second home!

My purpose-led journey
My career journey of 20+years has taken me around the world, working with government agencies, charities and businesses large and small. I've worked across numerous sectors including food and drink, tourism, education, business services and lifestyle brands as well as in the economic development sector.
My purpose to work with good brands started with The Body Shop back in 1997. Anita Roddick was still at the helm and The Body Shop story was told by word of mouth and PR, The Body Shop didn't pay for advertising, and social media hadn't been invented!
Back then the body shop campaigned hard on behalf of the environment and human rights.
It is here, where I fell in love with PR and telling stories - and my journey as a marketer began.
It was also where I was introduced to Triple Bottom line accounting (social, environmental and financial) and corporate social responsibility.
As a legacy from my economic development days, I have a passion for entrepreneurialism and innovation.
I'm all about digital, being smart with our business resources and creating a work/life balance that supports our own wellbeing, the planet we inhabit and the people we share it with.
My mantra is, be brave, be creative and be innovative.
I believe every organisation should be able to access affordable branding, marketing and communications advice and coaching, which is grounded in business planning and direction.
As a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Marketing and a Member of the Chartered Institute of PR, I make sure my skills are up to date and prefer to work with associates who do the same.
