About Us... In a quiet corner of Hawkshead village in the English Lake District, surrounded by majestic fells and forest, stands Ann Tysons Guest House. Our family run business offers comfortable hotel style bed and breakfast / self catering accommodation in the centre of the historic Lakeland village of Hawkshead.We are open all year round, fully welcome children and are pet friendly.

Ann Tysons Guesthouse, an historic Grade 2* listed lakeland cottage was originally owned by 'Ann Tyson'. It has been established as a bed and breakfast business since 1990. We offer a wide range of B&B accommodation, doubles with en-suite facilities, family rooms, plus cosy en-suite room for the solo traveller. For ease of access we are able to offer ground level bedrooms.This is ideal for those who find stairs a problem and also guests who wish to bring a dog. All rooms are en-suite with one exception, and this has private facilities. Colour TV and tea / coffee making facilities are in all rooms.

One of our rooms in the B&B features a beautiful anitque bed, purchased at an auction in 1933 from the estate of the art critic / writer John Ruskin (1819 - 1900), "Brantwood" Coniston.

More Information... Ann Tysons Guest House, an historic Grade 2* listed lakeland lodging cottage in Hawkshead, originally owned by 'Ann Tyson', childhood home to the poet William Wordsworth. It has been established as a bed & breakfast business in Hawkshead since 1990.

One of our rooms in the B&B features a beautiful antique bed, purchased at auction in 1933 from the estate of the art critic / writer John Ruskin (1819 - 1900), whose 'Historic Home' "Brantwood" near Coniston is now open to the general public.

Ann Tysons Main Cottage in Hawkshead is a 16th/17th century Grade 2* Lakeland cottage, former home of the poet William Wordsworth who lodged here whilst attending Hawkshead Grammar school. We are located in the centre of Hawkshead with all the amenities of the village on our doorstep.

The cottage consists of two first floor double bedrooms with an extra single bed space on the large landing, total sleeping space for 4 / 5 people. The bathroom / shower room is located on the ground floor.

The village of Hawkshead is a place of charm & character with an atmosphere that is timeless. Many people enjoy its whitewashed buildings, narrow streets, alleyways, quaint corners and cobbled streets.

The Lake District is England's only true mountain region and contains some of the most stunningly beautiful scenery in the land. The valleys which radiate from the central massif of mountains contain long, deep, glacially formed lakes which provide a marvellous contrast to the spectacular peaks and give the area its name.

Whatever the weather, the English Lake District always has something to offer from the lakes, mountains and hills which give the area its outstanding beauty to the countless activities, interesting & unique shops and visitor attractions suitable for all the family.
